A Friend

Who is the person whom you call a friend? What is the definition you give to it?
My view of a friend is ‘someone’ with whom you share your joys and sorrows.

How important is to have friends in your life? What would life have been without them?

Internet world of today has given a different meaning to the word friend and we have different categories like net, chat, blog friends and what not.
And more importantly, in today’s fast paced life, the term has been commercialized so much that the original sanctity is lost.
Years ago, I had a pen friend of mine, with whom I had been in touch for almost 5 years. I would desperately wait for her letters every fortnight. And if I did not get one, my sulking would start. And then, a day had come where I could live much without those letters.
This is life. Isn’t it?
Keep going!!

Happy are those, who have “FRIENDS” !

True, the meaning of friend has lost its sanctity. for me a friend is who cares not only in words but in action. who loves u for wht u are.

yes.. in olden days, i had friends whom i knew by their physical shape and size and with whom i used to hang out almost everyday... now the personal touch of sharing and caring is long gone and in this fast paced world we have different forms of friends... in my orkut friend's list i ahve around 400 friends and i have seen only around 50 of them in person... and to be frank i am very much attached to the rest 350 either thtu mails or thru blogs or thru fone calls.. it is indeed a different new phenomenon.. and we need to redefine the meaning for the word "friend"

May flower good one.
Just was wondering and was eager to know as when you had been attached through emails or letters to your pen friend for around 5 years and I am sure that he/she still walks in your thoughts even now which makes you refer that pen friend in this article didn't you make an attempt to touch base with your penfriend again ?? is that for 5 long years you didnt even feel like meeting that Pen friend of yours?? would you mind throwing some light into this??
