Life - Phase 1

Well…….i am planning to spend the next two days with ‘studies for forth-coming exam’.

And everywhere it’s a festival of examination, some writing it now and the rest preparing for it. Each of these mornings for the last one week I have been seeing children and youngsters going to their respective schools/colleges for writing exams. Each one is busy in his/her own world, mugging/revising/tensed.

Morning hours, wherever the bus takes a halt, students are found at every stop dwindling with their books as in last minute preparation.
I remember how exam days were for me, while I was studying and now, the same fear is lost or should I say I have conquered it?

SUNDAY Vs Sunday

Yesterday, being Sunday I watched the (not so)new release ‘SUNDAY’.
Its an okay kind of a movie.Nothing exciting about it, although there is a suspense brought about in the story line.
Ayesha Takia is in her usual innocent best. Ajay Devgan being in the role of a corrupt police officer, falls in love with Ayesha and the story goes on and on.

The whole story is about a missing day in Ayesha’s life or you could say a day which Ayesha has totally forgotten about, on whatever she has done.

I rate this movie 6 on a scale of 10.

Outgoing…..I? …..How? Read on....

Thattt! That!!patt!

Wonder what? This was echo of beatings which I had got from my Dad only decades ago.

A day at school, I am in class 4 and the time is 4:00PM. Had been waiting for that long bell, so that I could run back home. And finally the wait comes to an end, bell rings, we students from our respective class are running towards the gate like gushing water and finally my friend and me are out of our school gate.
Everytime, we got intervals at school, we used to play kalla-police, catch the un-paired, and so many other interesting numbers which I don’t even re-call today after so many years.

Coming to the 4PM episode, the moment I bid bye I was lured up by my friend with playing and invited me home. I senselessly, said yes and started following her, not thinking of my parents back home, not bothering to inform them. (That was the time when several children went missing in that area).

I happily went to her house, threw my school bag aside, got into her clothes, and started playing with her. Three hours went past, and I was engrossed in our play totally, and in the meantime somewhere, somehow I could hear my Dad’s voice. Shivers started up in my spine…

Finally, there it was the worst day of my life…..there I was standing face to face with my Dad. Dad on one corner and I on the other. I could hardly look into his eyes. He thanked my friends parents and brought me back home. Mom, at home received me with an irritated look. She asked what had happened to me. I was filled with guilt that words weren’t coming out of my mouth but rather tears were, out of my eyes. In the meantime, Dad came in and without uttering a single word came to me and gave me 2-3 beatings.
Thatt! Thatt!Phatt!

That being the first time beaten by my Dad, my reaction was that of an innocent. Unwanted hues and cues. Once the situation was back to normal, I swore to myself never would I hurt my parents.

Over the years, even today I recall that particular daring incident of mine and the after-effects and laugh to myself. And now I realize, what a fool I had been then.

Why such hype?

One of the famous cricketeers(name with-held) has got an admission for B.Com at Ranchi university. This was one of the columns a few days back.
How will this news benefit we, the general public? And what do we do with this news? If you say 'chaltha hain' why focus on one?

Why aren’t there any updates on the life of rest of the cricketeers and other sportsmen?
Updates of activities right from the time they wake up upto the time they hit bed, like brand of their bed, toothpaste, soaps, clothes, whatever they use, will have to be put across in newspapers. Why only on B.Com enrollment?

Celebrities, yes, understood. But why such hype? Where are we being led?

Womens Day at Work!

Last evening commemorated Women’s Day Special at work, with an event being organized to celebrate this occasion.

Take-off had slight hiccups, but gradually all enthusiasts poured in and made the event and the evening a memorable one.
We women being hosts, men had to entertain us with their talents;).It was a purely men based activities. Accordingly, we were spilt into groups of six with eight people in each group.

Elocution competition was the first in the row, where men had to talk a few good qualities about women. In simple words, praise women. And they happened to exhibit such enthusiastic talent, that left we spectators dumbfound. The best part was, bachelors spoke the best of words( their exposure to knowing a woman to such depth, remains a mystery).

Next was the talent exhibition round, where participants danced, mimicked and sang.
Finally, to wind up the event was a saree round. Men wrapped themselves with sarees of different styles, of course with our help, with a different look and make-up. They went on a ramp walk, answered “toughest” of questions posed by judges and won prize.

It was an amazing evening indeed. Cheers to all enthusiasts !!

A Friend

Who is the person whom you call a friend? What is the definition you give to it?
My view of a friend is ‘someone’ with whom you share your joys and sorrows.

How important is to have friends in your life? What would life have been without them?

Internet world of today has given a different meaning to the word friend and we have different categories like net, chat, blog friends and what not.
And more importantly, in today’s fast paced life, the term has been commercialized so much that the original sanctity is lost.
Years ago, I had a pen friend of mine, with whom I had been in touch for almost 5 years. I would desperately wait for her letters every fortnight. And if I did not get one, my sulking would start. And then, a day had come where I could live much without those letters.
This is life. Isn’t it?
Keep going!!

Happy are those, who have “FRIENDS” !

Being Sagittarian

Having born in the month of November, I belong to the clan of “mighty archers” A Sagittarian.

And I am glad to share some of the distinct qualities possessed only by a Sagittarian( as is put across by Linda Goodman).
I am happy Linda aunty has discovered a little of me. Here are some of them which holds good for me:

1) Difficult to fathom (very true)
2) Unique and brilliant ( am i?)
3) Careful and cautious ( to an extent, yes)
4) Less talkative but amiable (yes yes)
5) Knows how to dig secrets( 100%)
6) Brave and generous ( brave, yes, but generous, depends on what I’ll have to spare with)
7) Determined (yes, but I am lazy to keep up)
8) Motivates oneself (hmmmm……..)
9) Does not appreciate praises ( not on one-to-one, but they are a must in some other way)
10) Unpredictable ( Very true, because of which people think and think and think to talk to me)

I am happy to read all of the positive notes, but would me happier to get a reply to my question -
Why do fortune tellers predict only the good that’s in store? As far as the bad is concerned, it’s a post mishap do they try to justify.

This requires a slight change. What do you think?
